Falling In and Out Of Love…With Fitness
Ever been in Love? The “Wake-Up and be excited about it” Type of Love?
The 24/7 Love? When every moment you are happy because of that someone, regardless of whatever else is going on? You know, the Passionate, Amazing and I Could do Something Foolish Type of Love…
You Know that Love, You Do? Great…
Then you also know the “Well that Cooled quickly, and I still feel Love but it’s not the Perfect Love I thought it was” Feeling that comes soon after…
However long the Period of Time lasts for “Special Love”, there is a much longer Emotional Duration for “Regular Love” …
Regular Love may feel “Blah” in comparison to its predecessor, but is still Strong, Motivating, and Influences your Thought Process…
We all enjoy “Regular Love”, as it has many Merits, but also recognize that the Hot Intensity has died down…
Finally, when we fall Out of Love, we hit Rock Bottom…
Not a true “Ground Zero” Rock Bottom, but a temporary, “Look at What I Lost” Endpoint…
Falling Out of Love, after knowing the Previous Levels of Affection and Devotion, is Heartbreaking…
Falling Out of Love, after (Regular) Love, Represents a Seismic Shift of Time, Energy, Emotion and Confidence…
Falling Out of Love, after Being in Love, can make you Think you will Never be Back, that it wasn’t “Worth It’ to begin with, and that The Pain is Greater than the Effort required to dig ourselves out….
We get it, Walter. Love Hurts. What is your Point?
My Point is that Fitness is the same way.
Fitness is the Wonderful Relationship that occurs with yourself instead of someone else…
In fact, Substitute Fitness (or Health, Strength, Lean, Powerful, etc.-whatever Your Goal Word(s) is(are)}, and you may feel that the Sentiment applies the same way…
Try it!
Ever been Fit/Healthy? The “Wake-Up and be Excited about it” Type of Fit/Healthy?
The 24/7 Fit? When every moment you are happy because of your Health, regardless of whatever else is going on? You know, the Passionate, Amazing and I Could do Something Foolish Type of Fit/Healthy (Run a Marathon, CrossFit, Climb a Mountain, you get the point) …
The Paragraph works either way, because for many, their Relationship with Fitness/Health is Emotional…
It is Powerful…
It is Motivating and sometimes Disabling…
The 2nd Paragraph describes Love when “It Cools Off” and applies to Fitness/Health as well. It won’t “Cure” Everything, but it makes Life Better…
It doesn’t Make You jump Out of Bed, but you Can’t Imagine Life without it…
It “Fits” who you are, and Makes You Feel Good…
It may not be a “Burning Desire” (to Improve), but it is a Huge Influence in your Life…
The 3rd Paragraph describes Falling Out of Love (or Getting your Heart Broken) …When We Hit “Rock Bottom”, and Reality creeps in…
Fitness/Health works as a Metaphor here as well:
You don’t want any part of your past Relationship with Health/Fitness, and it makes you feel Sad/Angry/Insert Emotion Here…
You may Fall Out of Shape (Love) after being In Shape (Love) for a long time. You know how Good it was, how Good it felt, and you want no part of the “Work” associated with Getting it Back…
You don’t have the Time for “Fitness” (Love) anymore. You are Focused on other things in your Life, and they are terrific Distractions from your Past…
I am just asking you to Examine Your Relationship with Fitness/Health, and Be Open to Falling Back in Love…
Recognizing how You Feel about Exercise/Health is part of Recognizing How You Feel about Yourself…
Build, Repair, and Enhance those Relationships, and you will Probably do Something very Similar for Your Body (and in-turn, Your Mind and Soul) …
We are in the Health and Wellness Field here at IPF, so we want you to “Love” Taking Care of yourself for a long time…
But it can, and probably will be many “Types” of Love during your Fitness Journey…
“I Love Treating my Body Well and Living my Best Life” …
“I Love my Wife/Kids so much that I will Improve my Health”
“I Love that I can Continue to Feel Better as I get Older”
“I Love that I have a Second Chance at Health after my Illness”
“I Love that This is Me” …
Fall in Love, Stay in Love, Be in Love and Respect your Love for Life, Health, and Yourself…
Do it Here, or anywhere…
But do It Now, because Waiting for Love isn’t a Plan…
Creating Opportunities for Love, Fitness, Health, etc. is a much better Option…
