Kyle Henrick
Professional Journey
Even though Kyle is IPF’s most recent full-time addition, he is no stranger to the facility. He served as a strength and conditioning intern during Summer 2015 and has coached a wide variety of young athletes on techniques and skills to improve movement, speed, flexibility, strength, power, explosiveness, and more. When the opportunity arose to rejoin the team in early 2017, he jumped at the chance to return to the incredible IPF community and work for two coaches, Walter and Jamie, that he really respects and admires. Kyle has quickly made himself accessible to all clients, and works with the athlete training and adult training groups as well as personal training clients.
Despite being early in his career, Kyle brings exceptional industry experience as well as a successful athletic background to IPF, including:
- Coaching Major and Minor League Baseball players
- Working with baseball prospects from the nation’s top collegiate baseball programs
- Knowledge of manual and physical therapy techniques to aid in athlete training and recovery
- Serving as Varsity Defensive Coordinator and Varsity Defensive Line Coach for Andover, MA High School Football
- Being a standout high school athlete in basketball and football at Salem High School, Salem, NH
- Receiving New England Football Conference Academic All-Conference Team honors as a high school senior, junior, and sophomore
The IPF community welcomes Kyle and the energy, positive attitude, and huge smile he brings to the facility every day.
Kyle is an NFHS (National Federation of State High Schools) Certified Coach, NFHS Concussion Certified, and CPR and First Aid Certified. He attended Salve Regina University in Newport, RI where he played Varsity Football for four years. He earned a B.S. in Financial Management, and is now pursuing a Masters in Sports and Fitness Administration.
Personal Journey
Kyle is the first to acknowledge that his path – finance degree, job in banking – has been relatively unusual compared to others in the fitness industry. “I really feel lucky to have been able to change course early on in my professional life and to have quickly found a much more meaningful career for myself. My true passion is working with athletes to help them achieve their goals, not only in the weight room, but in their daily lives as well.”
Building the self-confidence of the young athletes he works with is Kyle’s primary coaching mission. “Having confidence in the weight room can have a massive impact on so many other areas of a young athlete’s life. I truly enjoy being able to help my clients achieve at their highest level possible.”
Kyle’s experience working with professional athletes, primarily professional baseball players and prospects preparing to be drafted, offers something unique to the young athletes and adults he coaches. “I gained exceptional insight into shoulder mechanics and postural compensations as well as their corrections while training high-level athletes. This is all key information that I can apply to IPF clients who exhibit similar issues to help them improve their physical and mental well-being.”
In addition to being a sports and fitness enthusiast, Kyle has a wide variety of personal interests that he admits change often. “Right now, I am exploring meditation and the benefits that come along with improved mindfulness. I also enjoy reading, hiking, relaxing at the beach, and spending time with my family and friends.”
