Lack of Evolution (in the Training World) …

 

Charles Darwin is credited with pioneering the basic principles and Philosophy of Evolution… He was among the 1st to separate Science from Religion, and was only interested in what the Information “told” him…

Since then, we have taken steps forward (and some back) with regards to the specific details of “How we Got Here” … It is fascinating not only to think we have only scratched the surface, but that also we are Learning something New all of the time…

 

Side-Step over to the World, and Evolution of Training. People realized that they could Feel Better, Move Better, Look Better and Live Longer once they started Exercising. So they did, and have kept doing so in record numbers for the last 30-years…

 

When it began, it was simple: We didn’t really know much…

How Do I Exercise (What to Do)?

What Do I Eat? (the “Right Plan”)

How Do I Recover (How much Sleep?)

What is my Plan to Bring them All Together? (Process)

 

Flash Forward 30-years, and there is no Darwin who has pushed us forward.

We are still dealing with the same Questions, the same Dilemmas, and similar Behavioral Issues that have plagued the Health and Fitness World since we began…

Science, the Internet, the Local Gym (more options to “Workout” than ever before), “Experts” and Pop Culture Gimmicks have made it easier than ever to Train Poorly, Be Misled, Be Confused, Give Money Away, and Ignore the Basics…

 

Right now, in this very moment, there are record numbers of Adults + Athletes that have more “Information” than ever before… Yet they are Making Daily Decisions that take them further away from “Healthy” …

 

Simply put, we have not “Evolved”. The Issues we are facing, the Problems we are attempting to solve are the same as they have always been:

 

What Do I Do? (i.e. Functional Training, CrossFit, Bootcamp, Yoga, Body Build, Obstacle Courses, etc.)

What Do I Eat? (i.e. Paleo, Mediterranean, Keto, Balanced Diet, Athletic Requirements, Recovering from Injury/Illness/Condition, Raw Food, South Beach, Weight Watchers, etc.)

How Do I Recover? (i.e. “Dysfunctional” Sleep is at an All-time High in the United States, more money spent in the “Sleep” Industry every year, Supplements, etc.)

What is My Plan? (Do I have the necessary Patience to “Learn” what Method(s) works for Me as opposed to jumping around from Program to Program, Sound Bite to Sound Bite, Fad to Fad?, etc.)

 

My point, in truth, is that we haven’t really Learned from Darwin, History or each other…

The Basic Principles are still being Debated because they are done so Poorly by so many…

 

Working Out with Intent: Resistance Training + Cardiovascular Training, is still Scientifically Proven and Empirically Valid…

 

Eating a “Balanced” + Common-Sense approach, aiming for ~80% “Good” Rate (we say Get a “B”), and having your Intake match your Goal is still Scientifically Proven and Empirically Valid…

 

Sleeping 7.5hrs+ each Night and >56hrs a Week has NEVER been more Important than it is now in terms of Health… which is also Scientifically Proven and Empirically Valid…

 

Having a Plan, that is Fluid enough to Adapt to Your Life and Changing Variables, yet you are CONSISTENT with as part of your Lifestyle, is Scientifically Proven and Empirically Valid…
